This company is known to be the fast track to the top of the business world. In 1963, Sponsors for Education Opportunity, or SEO was founded as one of New York City’s first mentoring programs for high school students of color. It granted access to top career and educational opportunities. SEO created the Career Program in 1980 for vigorous undergraduates all over the nation. This program today places over 300 interns in different program areas such as accounting, investment banking, law, and philanthropy. Each year, around 80% of the intern class ends the summer with at least one full-time job offer from partner firms.

Interning at Sponsors for Education Opportunity

SEO interns do professional work at their 10-week long summer internships. This work includes, but is not limited to, assisting corporate lawyers, interfacing with CFOs, and evaluating philanthropic programs. Additionally, SEO interns receive intensive industry training from professionals and academic leaders. Interns are also assigned mentors from their industry area as well as the alumni network made up of over 4,500. This is an unpaid internship.

How to apply:

These internships are open to minority college students showing great academic success, with a minimum GPA of 3.0. While most program areas are primarily for sophomores and juniors, seniors are eligible for corporate law and philanthropy programs.
