Sony, not to be confused with Sony Music or Sony Pictures, is known as one of the world’s leading electronics makers. Its few locations consist of Park Ridge, New Jersey, and Tokyo, Japan. This firm began in 1945 making transistor radios for the news-hungry population in Japan. Today, Sony makes much more.
Interns help Sony develop, test, and sell new products. Positions are available in different departments such as engineering, research, marketing, and sales. The engineering and research departments require the applicants to already have some training and knowledge. The fall/spring and summer internships last for ten weeks each. Salary is $300-600 a week, based on credentials. In some situations, free housing in Tokyo is offered to the interns.
These internships are open to college freshmen up to college seniors. It is necessary to be a science, engineering, or math major for the engineering and research departments. One must be a finance, business or accounting major for other departments. Internships are available all year round. To contact the New Jersey office call (201) 930-1000.
