THE KIM IGOE ADVANCED LEVEL INTERNSHIP
IN COLLECTIONS MANAGEMENT
January to December, 2023; $34,000 stipend award

The Smithsonian American Art Museum seeks an exceptional student for a full-time, on-site internship, from January to December, 2023. The internship will carry a stipend award of $34,000 and will be part of the Museum’s Advanced Level Internship Program. This position is part of a new project, jointly administered by the Museum’s Registrar’s Office and the Lunder Conservation Center, in support of the Kim Igoe Endowment for the cataloguing, conservation, study, and presentation of James Hampton’s Throne of the Third Heaven of the Nations’ Millennium General Assembly, a major artwork in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
Applicants for this position should have a high academic record, previous experience in a museum Registrar’s Office and be dedicated to a career as a Museum Registrar.
