2023 Summer Internship

OVERVIEW
ClaySpaceTC is a community ceramics studio, located in Traverse City, Michigan. Our focus is on teaching and expanding ceramic possibilities in northern lower Michigan. This internship will expose you to a variety of ceramic environments. You will be working with multiple age groups and skill levels, in weekly classes, three day camps and in single lessons. Open studio time including clay, glaze, and firings are available to pursue your work on the wheel or handbuilding. You will work alongside two teaching artists, Phil Wilson and Clay Maas. Phil and Clay are also functional ceramic artists. Phil brings over 35 years of ceramic experience, working in a variety of classrooms and many skill levels. Clay offers 9 years of ceramics experience with 4 of those years as a teaching artist.
QUALIFICATIONS
This internship is open to any current student pursuing a degree in ceramics or art education with interest in ceramics. Ideal candidates will have completed 2 plus years of ceramics in the college or university setting and are interested in pursuing a career in ceramics after graduation.
