Established in 1976 as a rattan furniture manufacturer under Cosmopolitan Business Agencies (CBA). In 1989, it has changed its operation to training and consultancy. In 2004, the CBA officially changed its name to MIT Academy Sdn Bhd..

MIT Academy is a technical college offering engineering skills courses to school leavers accredited by Department of Skill Development (DSD), Ministry of Human Resources No. L01956 License. MIT Academy Sdn Bhd conducted under Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) License No. 647236A fully Funded Programmes under Inbase, Generate and Future Workers Training. MIT Academy has provided training and education to almost 5,000 students and industries staff.

In October 2012, the Ministry of Education has appointed MIT Academy as the first Private Vocational College offering the Malaysian Vocational Diploma programme for the PT3 graduate students for a 4-year diploma programme.In 2015, MIT Academy Sdn Bhd appointed by Omron & Bosch Rexroth - creator of Industry 4.0 as a Licensed Training Partners (LTC) & Autodesk & Carey Training Authorised Training Center(ATC). By 2016, MIT Academy has become a technology partner for Fanuc, SMC and MAZAK.

Moving towards 2019 MIT Academy will commence into International School called MITstem International School. At MITstem, we believe that a good education is not just about exam results, but also the emotional and social development of our children. We offer a rich extracurricular calendar, including day and residential trips, after school clubs, work experience, and a colourful array of school and inner-school events designed to develop students at all levels including a makerspace for creativity and development
